Big C HK Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Big C HK Membership

The rules and the terms and conditions referenced herein clearly outline the regulations for applying and registering as a Big C HK member provided by BIG C (HK) COMPANY LIMITED, as well as the rights and obligations between Big C HK and its registered members. These include, but are not limited to, the use of membership services provided by Big C HK, access to member benefits, product information, redemption of membership points, and transaction record management services. Please ensure you read these membership rules carefully before registering as a Big C HK member.

2. Membership Services

You must successfully complete the membership registration process to become a member and enjoy the membership services. Big C HK membership is completely free and does not require any annual membership fees. To avoid disputes, each membership account can only be linked to one mobile number. Subsequently, every time you log into your membership account, you must use the registered mobile number and complete password verification. Any subsequent request to change the registered mobile number will be treated as a new membership registration application.

3. Modification and Validity of Membership Rules

• 3.1 Membership rules apply upon submission of your membership application.
• 3.2 Big C HK may amend these membership rules at any time to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to maintain transaction records, update membership programs and services, or for any other lawful purposes. Big C HK can notify members of the updated rules through announcements on its official website, emails, SMS, WhatsApp messages or notices displayed at Big C HK stores.
• 3.3 By registering as a member through the Big C HK membership registration QR code or using the membership services (if registered), you agree to comply with all the terms outlined in the Big C HK membership rules.

4. Membership Registration

• 4.1 To register a Big C HK member, please scan the membership registration QR code provided by Big C HK stores, follow the on-screen instructions, read and accept the membership rules, enter your mobile number, verify it through instant SMS, and provide the required personal information. All information you provide during the registration process must be truthful, accurate, complete, and up-to-date; otherwise, Big C HK reserves the right to reject your application or cancel your registration (if registered). Please update your personal information in the personal details section of the Big C HK membership system to enjoy membership services and maintain communication with Big C HK.
• 4.2 All personal information you provide to Big C HK will be protected in accordance with Big C HK's Privacy Policy. Each individual is permitted to submit only one membership registration application and register a single membership account. Any duplicate registration applications, duplicate membership accounts, and any points associated with such accounts may be unilaterally canceled by Big C HK. You shall have no objection to this and no right to claim compensation from Big C HK in this regard.
• 4.3 Membership is personal to you and shall not be transferred, assigned, exchanged, sold, leased or inherited to any other person at any time and shall not be used for any purposes other than those contained herein.
• 4.4 Big C HK reserves the right to review the accuracy of the membership registration information you have provided at any time in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Based on the results of its review, Big C HK may revoke or terminate your membership. Big C HK retains full discretion in making such decisions.

5. Membership Account Validity

Once membership is successfully registered, the membership account will remain valid until the membership is terminated in accordance with these membership rules.

6. Use and Restrictions of Membership Points

• 6.1 Upon successful registration as a Member, members can provide their mobile number to the staff before making a purchase at any Big C HK store in Hong Kong. For every net HK$1 spent at the time of payment, members will earn 1 basic point. However, any fractional amount of the net total (i.e., less than HK$1) will not be counted towards points. For example, if the purchase amount is HK$108.50, the member will earn 108 points.
• 6.2 Accumulated 200 points can be redeemed for a HK$1 discount.
• 6.3 The points will be automatically calculated upon completion of the transaction and displayed at the bottom of the receipt. Purchases from different stores, points are consolidated the next day.
• 6.3.1 The points can be used next day after earned, and point redemption is limited to once per day.
• 6.4 No Point will be generated in any of the following scenarios:
  • 6.4.1 Points cannot be exchanged for cash, redeemed for other points or product(s) or service(s); Points may not be transferred, assigned, leased, sold, inherited or gifted to another member or any third party.
  • 6.4.2 Purchase not made at Big C HK stores
  • 6.4.3 Any spending amount made at any Big C HK stores before registering as a member
  • 6.4.4 Purchases of cash vouchers or gift cards (if applicable) are not eligible to earn membership points. Additionally, cash discounts or points deducted when using electronic cash vouchers and electronic coupons (if applicable) will not be counted towards points accumulation.
  • 6.4.5 Members who purchase products at Big C HK stores must provide their membership phone number to store staff prior to payment. Any subsequent claims or requests for reissuance of points made after completing the payment will not be accepted.
  • 6.4.6 If Big C HK members cancel, return, or request a refund for a purchased product, the points earned from the corresponding order will be deducted. Furthermore, if the associated points have already been used prior to the cancellation, return, or refund of the order, the member's account point balance will reflect a negative value due to the deduction. In addition, Big C HK reserves the right to claim the equivalent monetary value of the deducted points from the member accounts with negative balances.
  • 6.4.7 If the Member has dishonest or illegal transactional behaviour, Big C HK has the right to cancel the transaction, deduct or adjust the Points, or restrict Member from acquiring Points and/or terminate his/her Membership registration. Any denial of the existence of the said behaviour shall be done by raising objection in writing and submitting any evidence in support thereof to Big C HK within 14 days after Big C HK shall have taken the said measures as it may deem it appropriate.
  • 6.4.8 Big C HK may change the rules of earning Points so as to enable the members to earn additional points as Big C HK may deem it appropriate. Big C HK will update the latest rules of earning Points through Big C HK Official Website and/or Designated Shops to notify Members of the same. If you continue to use the Membership Services after the update of the said rules, you will be deemed to have fully accepted such updated rules.
• 6.5 Points earned between January 1 and December 31 of each year will remain valid until December 31 of the same year. Any unused points will expire on December 31 of that year.
• 6.6 Big C HK reserves the right to cancel or deduct any points incorrectly credited to any member account without prior notice.
• 6.7 Members can check their latest remaining points via receipts that display their membership points records. However, all historical membership points records shall be based solely on the Big C HK database, which shall be considered as the final and conclusive record.
• 6.8 Members agree that Big C HK shall not be held liable for any delays, losses, errors, or unidentifiable message transmissions caused by network or system failures, third-party applications, telephone line blockages, or any other reasons beyond Big C HK's control.
• 6.9 Big C HK reserves final decision rights in case of any disputes.

7. Termination of Membership

• 7.1 Big C HK reserves the right to immediately terminate any member's membership by issuing a notice under any of the following circumstances:
  • 7.1.1 The information provided by the member during registration is found to be inaccurate, false, or misleading.
  • 7.1.2 The member accumulates points through illegal means or utilizes the membership services for purposes other than those specified in these terms.
  • 7.1.3 The member disrupts activities of other members, uses other members’ personal information without authorization, causes losses to other members, or infringes upon their rights.
  • 7.1.4 The member engages in malicious misrepresentation, defamation, fraud, theft, or illegally obtains points or benefits belonging to other members.
  • 7.1.5 The member breaches any provision of these membership rules, disrupts public order and morality, or violates any legal requirements.
• 7.2 All accumulated points, rights, or benefits associated with the terminated membership (if applicable) shall immediately expire upon termination and shall not be reinstated under any circumstances, even if the member re-applies for membership.
• 7.3 In the event of any dispute regarding membership termination, Big C HK reserves the right of final decision.

8. Disclaimer

Any information, content, or materials provided on the membership system or application (if applicable) are for general reference only. Your participation in Big C HK and use of our membership system, application (if applicable), your Big C HK account, points, and rewards (if applicable) are at your own risk. Furthermore, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Big C HK shall not be liable in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise for any loss or damage arising from these rules or any products or services provided, whether general, special, indirect, direct, symbolic, punitive, incidental, or consequential. Big C HK shall also not be responsible for any related information, content, materials, or services provided.
